Students of Mechanical Engineering, University of Belgrade, visiting the Directorate of Measures and Precious Metals

Students of the fifth year of Mechanical Engineering, University of Belgrade, visited the Directorate of Measures and Precious Metals on December 12, 2013. Expert visits attended by their professors dr. Radivoje Mitrović and dr. Zoran Stamenić.

During study visits, students had the opportunity to become more familiar with the role of the Directorate of Measures and Precious Metals in metrological assurance in the Republic of Serbia and its contribution to meeting the requirements for access to membership of the World Trade Organization and the European Union, through the provision of accurate and comparable measurements, use of measuring instruments that are in conformity with the internationally established requirements, the use of SI units of measurement and by providing traceability of all measurement results to national or international standards.

In the laboratories of the Directorate of Measures and Precious Metals, students have seen the ultimate measuring equipment, they met with realized, most accurate calibration methods for disseminating values of SI units and discussed with experts from the Directorate on topics that were introduced during the lectures and on which they have a previous knowledge, especially in relation to the subject of their study "Technical regulations and standards."
