Third year students of the High Technical School of Professional Studies from Zrenjanin visited the Directorate of Measures and Precious Metals on March 18, 2014.

For the first time in the National Metrology Institute, the students had the opportunity to become more familiar with the role of the Directorate of Measures and Precious Metals in providing metrological traceability in Serbia. During a visit to the Directorate students toured the laboratories for mass, length, thermometry, photometry and volume.

In addition to theoretical knowledge of metrology, which were adopted in the subject Measurement of Physical Quantities, students had the opportunity to meet with the implemented, most accurate calibration methods for dissemination of values of SI units by end users, as well as with research to improve the SI unit, which performs the Directorate through the creation of new and improvement of existing national standards and ensuring metrological traceability to the international level.
