Conference “Meeting SI units revision”
On the occasion of the World Metrology Day – 20th May whose theme this year is: “Constant evolution – the International System of Units” Directorate of measures and precious metals (hereinafter: DMDM) organized Conference: “Meeting SI units revision” in Klub poslanika.
Conference attended representatives of the Ministry of economy, Accreditation body of Serbia, Institute for standardization of Serbia, representatives of high education and scientific institutions, institutes, metrology laboratories and other interested parties.
On behalf of DMDM Conference opened Mr. Čedomir Belić, Acting Director expressing great satisfaction because of participant’s interest. He paid particular attention to long history, role, place and importance of DMDM and metrology in Serbia.
Ms. Dr Jelena Pantelić Babić PhD, Head of Section for electrical quantities DMDM informed attendees about the way, the four existing physical quantities: kilogram, ampere, mole and kelvin of the International system SI units will be redefined and expressed through fundamental physical constants.
Prof. Dr Bećko Kasalica PhD, professor at Physical Faculty University of Belgrade emphasized importance of metrology and pointed out the challenges fundamental metrology faces with. Dr Dejan Pantelić PhD, researcher at the Institute of Physics in Belgrade presented Digital holographic metrology and it’s application in everyday life.
Choir of students of Physical Faculty University of Belgrade performed at the conference.
